TRAIN AS AN INSTRUCTOR OR COACH
Many skiers and snowboarders love the sport so much that they can’t resist trying to persuade others to take up the sport, very often getting involved in a little teaching themselves. Teaching people to ski and snowboard is very rewarding and helps to improve your performance as well Centres are always looking out for instructors and are keen to assist their development.Snowsport Wales manages and delivers The United Kingdom Snowsport Coach Awards Scheme in Wales and as such provides a training and qualification programme for aspiring Instructors and Coaches wishing to work with skiers throughout the UK through Clubs, Ski Facilities and upon an individual basis. The courses are well recognised within Great Britain and are fully transferable.
Starting up in the Coach Awards Scheme, involves firstly registering as a Candidate Instructor with the Snowsport Wales Coaching Scheme. Registration forms are available through Clubs and Centres in Wales or though the Snowsport Wales office. The next step is to book onto a Club Instructor Training Course and begin your training programme. The minimum age to be able to embark upon the Coach Awards Scheme is 16 years old.
